The company’s 100th anniversary is just around the corner in 2023.Īs you look at the maps and attractions for each land, you’ll see that some lands have changed more than others. Walt Disney World had just opened October 1, 1971, so the park was still quite new.ĭid you notice the “Walt Disney Productions 50 Happy Years” emblem on the cover? The company that Walt Disney and his brother founded in 1923 has had four names: Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio (1923-1926), Walt Disney Studio (1926-1929), Walt Disney Productions (1929-1986), and The Walt Disney Company (1986-present). The maps in this article are from the Walt Disney World Spring/Summer 1973 Information Guide, a 34-page, 3¾" x 8" guide booklet. We’ve tried to be as thorough as possible, but we didn’t add every character meet & greet or any of the random “roving” entertainment like the Muppet Mobile Labs at EPCOT. You can bring them with you and mark off each attraction as you do them, or take a look ahead of time and plan out which ones you need to see. What we’ve done is create attraction checklists for each park. Never fear, though, because Magic & Misadventures (with a whole lot of help from my graphic designer wife) is here to help! There are a ton of attractions to see, and can be a bit overwhelming when you’re trying to see as many as possible. If you haven’t, well, there’s a lot do to in the parks. If you’ve been to Walt Disney World or Disneyland, you know that there is a lot to do in the parks.
